Terrorists Fight US Ban

Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) terrorists have challenged the U.S. State Department's listing of the group as a terrorist organization, a lawyer for the terrorists said.

"The LTTE asked a federal appeals court to set aside its designation by Secretary of State Albright as a foreign terrorist organization," said Visuvanathan Rudrakumaran.

"LTTE is an organization representing the Tamil People who are being subjected to deadly violence, deprived of basic human rights and systematically discriminated against and persecuted as a people by the Sri Lankan government dominated by the Sinhala people," said the application made by the lawyer for terrorists.

Rudrakumaran said in his statement that the LTTE was employing legitimate political violence as a last resort for self-defence. "LTTE presents no threat to the security of the United States, and is not a terrorist organization as defined under the laws of the United States and under international law," he added.

This is usual LTTE bullshit, lets look at the actual facts:

1. LTTE have killed over 2000 Tamil civilians, some of who are prominent politicians who opposes their views. Children as young as 10 are kidnapped from Tamil families, brainwashed and sent to die in suicide operations while most of the LTTE leadership have sent their children abroad. This is how they represent the Tamil people.
   
   

2. LTTE have massacred thousands of Sinhala and Muslim civilians the most barbaric ways possible. Children and hacked to death, mothers are beheaded, and bodies are mutilated. Over 60% of the Tamils in Sri Lanka live peacefully outside the northern and eastern provinces, where majority of the population is Sinhalese. Tamils living in these areas are one of the most privileged minorities in the world. It is only the Tamils who live in northern and eastern areas under LTTE terrorist control areas who are suffering hardship. The once prosperous Tamils in Northern and Eastern areas of Sri Lanka have been driven to destruction; all Sinhala and Muslim civilians who lived in the Northern areas have been ethnically cleansed. 
   
   

3. LTTE are fighting the legitimately elected democratic government of Sri Lanka with arms smuggled in illegally. Every citizen in the country, including the Tamils living in the northern and eastern parts of the country, had a vote to elect the present government. This democratically elected government of Sri Lanka has every right and a duty to fight any armed terrorists to protect its citizens and property.
   
   
4. LTTE have exploded a number of massive bombs in crowded streets and trains of Colombo killing hundreds of civilians with total disregard for human life. No warning has ever been given for any of their bombs. These bombs have also caused millions of dollars worth of damage to property.
